Cheese is such a pleasure! Just think about an afternoon when you put some good cheese and good wine on your table and just enjoy...
But which cheese?! Blue cheese, hard cheese, soft cheese... ? Swiss, French... or maybe British? All of them are great as long as you choose the right ones. When it comes to good quality cheeses, you might be sure that it is a treat not only for your taste buds but also for your body. Best cheeses are carefully produced from good milk that comes from pretty cows (or pretty goats!) what makes it not only an absolutely delightful treat but also one good for your body! Remember, that you should always choose products and foods carefully, know what you are eating and where it comes from. For some some foods quality makes a huge difference, and I always say that whenever it comes to animal-produce it is always better to research well. This means that cheese is one of such products which are always better when selected carefully, rather than bought mediocre mass-production-supermarket version.
Now, everyone knows that Switzerland is a country of cheese, right ? But did you ever hear about British cheese? Even though not so many people outside of Great Britain know about British cheeses, the islands produce many, many different kinds of cheeses. But that`s not all, much of cheese production there is made with great care of quality and passion. After all, it seems logical- don`t they have beautiful countrysides with clean air, green grass watered by their rainy weather? Sounds like a paradise for any cow! But I did not realize it either until I discovered British Cheese Centre, which imports British cheeses to Switzerland. Here, see yourself:
British Cheese Centre of Switzerland. Crazy, no ?
And since here, in Switzerland, people produce and consume only good quality cheeses they must know what is good, right? Therefore, we decided to make an experiment and treat few Swiss with British cheeses to find out what they think about them! I had 6 different kinds of cheeses from Great Britain provided by British Cheese Centre of Switzerland.
No.1 Cornish Yarg
No.2 Red Leicester
No.3 Swaledale Goat Milk
No.4 Cropwell Bishop Traditional Stilton
No.5 Godminster Organic Cheddar
No.6 Montgomery Cheddar
Find out more next days about what kind of cheeses they are (if you do not know them yet), including more pictures and what my dear Swiss Gruyere-Lovers thought about them !
See you soon!
